Wellbutrin, which is generically prescribed as bupropion, is used to treat the symptoms of depression and seasonal affective disorder. It is also used as a smoking cessation tool by reducing the cravings and withdrawal symptoms of cigarette smokers.
Wellbutrin is not appropriate for everyone. A thorough medical history should be assessed prior to prescribing this medication. I'm taking 150mg Wellbutrin XL and I no longer feel sad all the time, but I also have no desire to do anything what-so-ever. I used to be very creative making all sorts of things, but I no longer have the inspiration to do anything. It's as though I've lost my soul. I'm no longer the same person I was before I started taking Wellbutrin. I hope I don't have to be on this for long.

Well I was on 150 mg gradual release in the a.m. and 75 mg non-gradual release but wanted to get off. So now I just do the a.m. 150 mg but I puke every morning, like I am pregnant, which we have ruled out. How long will this last?

I just started taking this Wellbutrin. I know that it takes a while to work, but I feel more depressed on it than I did before I started taking it. I have no motivation and find it hard to stay focused on anything. I do not think that this is a very effective treatment.

I have only been on Wellbututrin for about 3 months now, but I am finding that it is THE only anti depressant th at has worked out for me in amy way. I have tried numerous ones to date, and finally took myself off cymbalta, against my doctors wishes, but off course with her knowledge. Why pay good money for something that isn't working. Then I was at my sister's house and saw my niece have a full blown out panic attack. She has them so often she couldn't lead a normal fun teen lifestyle. Her doctor put her on wellbutrin and it turned her life around. After that my daughter and husband convinced me to give it one more try on a new antidpressant. I am glad I so far that I listened. We will see how it works in the long run.
