  Telfast

Telfast

Telfast review by Medicalook.com

Telfast isn’t a drug that you hear about everyday, but this drug does wonders for allergies without the drowsiness most other anti-histamines have. The active ingredient in Telfast is fexofenadine, which is a kind of anti-histamine that is non-sedating. Fexofenadine doesn’t affect the mind as much as other drugs, so the one taking it doesn’t feel drowsy. This makes Telfast more convenient for people who want to put in a full days work and stop their allergies at the same time.

Anti-histamines usually prevent the symptoms of histamine, which the body produces as a defense against allergies. Histamine, while don’t its job defending your body produces symptoms like runny noses and rashes. Anti-histamines counter the symptoms of histamine, most have a sleeping-pill effect. However, Telfast is a non-sedating anti-histamine so that means that there is no drowsiness when you take this drug.

Telfast is usually given to people suffering from seasonal allergic rhinitis or hay fever and also people with chronic urticaria, which is a persistent rash. Any allergy symptoms like hives, runny noses and itching can be treated with Telfast and most other anti-histamines. Elderly people and people with epilepsy, glaucoma, enlarged prostates, and kidney or liver problems are strongly suggested to consult with their doctors for another medication. Elderly people are more susceptible to the side effects of the drug which include dizziness, fever, nausea, stomach pain, increased appetite and weight gain. These side effects are negligible for most people. Serious side effects include seizures and tremors, which should be reported to your doctor immediately if it occurs when you take Telfast.

Women who are pregnant should avoid using the drug, especially in the first months of pregnancy. Taking Telfast might affect the fetus and may even cause birth defects. Also amounts of Telfast are passed through the breast milk and may affect babies. Mothers should stop nursing while on Telfast.

Remember to inform the doctor of any medication that you are taking before using Telfast. These medications, even herbal or vitamins, might have adverse effects on your body in combination with Telfast. Always inform your doctor of any drug or vitamin that you are taking and also any allergy you have so that he can prescribe the right dose for you.

Telfast comes in pill and syrup form and works for as long as 24 hours without making you drowsy. It’s the perfect cure for people with hay fever or allergies; they can still enjoy the outdoors without the runny nose and rashes!
