Naltrexone is a drug used to treat addiction to alcohol and street drugs such as heroin and many more. This drug is only given to those who have stopped using such substances and should not be given to people who are still using street drugs or alcohol.

Naltrexone comes in a form of a tablet that can be taken orally. This drug is usually administered under the supervision of a doctor or in a hospital. While under medication, you must religiously attend to the addiction programs required in order to facilitate fast recovery. This includes attending counseling, education programs, support group sessions and other treatments needed. It is also best not to take any alcohol, drugs or similar substances while under treatment. Using higher dose of street drugs while using Naltrexone will cause serious health condition such as coma or even death.
You must continue using this medication even if you feel that you no longer need it. Stopping the medication earlier than required may hamper the treatment and will only prolong the process.
