Gliclazide is used in combination with exercise sessions and diet in order to control the increase of blood sugar on a patient with diabetes. This medicine is usually provided to non insulin dependent patients. By controlling the increase of blood sugar, it helps prevent the risk of blindness, kidney problems, heart disease and stroke.
Gliclazide is best consumed after meals. A dose of one tablet can be taken each day or depends on the prescription of a doctor. Gliclazide should be taken on a scheduled time everyday so as to have better results.

Before taking this medicine you must visit your doctor and inform of any health problems you have especially if you have allergies to medicines or if you have kidney and liver problems.

As a diabetic patient, attending diabetes education program is advised so that you will have better understanding on what are needed to maintain your health. You must also have a regular check up. Normally, side effects will occur to a patient due to the adjustment of the body to the medicine. Some signs of side effects may occur such as diarrhea, nausea and sometimes stomach disturbance. There are also tendency of itching, rashes, fever, chilling and noticeable bruises. It can also cause the decrease of blood sugar which can show symptoms like headache, unusual hunger, rapid heartbeat, dizziness and frequent sweating.
